June 4

Art in Portland. This is at a gallery in the Pearl. And yes, these popsicles are really melting.

June 3

This is an ugly picture, but I took it because it's as much a part of my life as the beautiful rose bushes blooming everywhere. This parking lot behind a Toyota dealership is down the street from Kiel's house, and we pass it every day, but it's weird how easy it is to block out the not-so-beautiful scenery that is as much a part of the urban landscape as the trees, flowers, parks, and beautiful buildings that we (or at least I) like to focus on.

summer so far. rain, clouds, cold.

life in the Rose City

So here goes. The first of 365 photos that will each be a little piece of a puzzle that in one year from today, will hopefully be a picture of my life during my last year of college. As thousands of other people have already done (as part of Project 365), I will upload one photo per day of something I want to remember about my life in that particular moment. Today it is how stunning the wild rose bushes look as the sun hits them in the afternoon light. It is rose season, and it is a beautiful day in Portland today. Maybe the first beautiful day of summer, or maybe just a tease in between the gray, cloudy, rainy days that have taken May hostage. The roses are all blooming here, making the city seem so alive.
